When you truly know Allah, you will love him. Truly, deeply, wholeheartedly love Him.
How can anyone not love their protector? The One who cares for them? Who takes care of them? Who always listens to them? Who always sees and hears them? How can we not love a lord that forgives the same mistakes, even if we were to do it a million times because of how weak we am? Make one mistake with one human being and they’ll hold it against you for a lifetime.
How can we not love a lord that tells us to talk to him because he loves to hear us talk to him? Talk to any human being for more than 10 minutes about your problems and see how little they can take it. They’ll probably cut you off and glance at their watch for good measure.
How can we not love a lord that has planned our lives in such meticulous detail, a life that can only ever be tailored to us and us only? Ask a human being to plan something for your own good and watch them mess it up.
How can we not love a lord that gives? A lord that has given us our eyes and heart and ears and family and money and health and a life? Ask a human being to give you something, anything, and watch them struggle to give it to you.
How can we not love a lord that takes only to give? A lord who's taking is actually giving in and of itself? A lord that takes in this world only to give you something bigger in the next? A human being only takes to punish. Allah takes to reward, and reward greatly.
How can we not love a lord that is thankful? You give Allah one good deed, he multiplies it by ten and more, then thanks you for doing that good deed. If we were being assessed and examined by a human being, we wouldn’t have gotten anything in return. We wouldn’t have even gotten the reward of that one good deed, let alone thanked for it in the first place.
The point is…once you know who Allah is, you will love Him. You will love how he cares for you and feeds you and plans your life and puts ideas in your head to initiate and also protects you and teaches you and gives you and prepares a whole wide heaven for all of us and the list is endless.
So once you know His names and attributes you will truly come to love Allah.
And when that love settles in the heart, everything begins to change.
Obedience is no longer heavy. It is no longer a list of duties to check off or rules to force oneself into. It becomes something natural, something the heart leans toward without resistance. Because when you love, you want to please. You want to draw closer. You want to do what makes the One you love pleased with you.
And suddenly, what once felt difficult becomes beloved. Waking up for prayer is no longer a burden, it becomes a meeting. Lowering your gaze is no longer a restriction, it becomes protection. Letting go of something haram is no longer a loss, it becomes relief.
This is what love does. It transforms.
The one who knows Allah does not just worship Him out of fear, nor only out of hope, but out of love that sits at the core of everything. A love that makes the heart present, the limbs sincere, and the soul at peace.
Because the reality is, this dunya was never meant to fully satisfy. No person, no achievement, no amount of wealth will ever fill that space within. That space was created for one purpose only: To be filled with the love of Allah.
And when it is filled correctly, everything else falls into place.
You begin to see His mercy in things you once called hardships. You begin to notice His gentleness in moments you once overlooked. You begin to trust His plan, even when you do not understand it, because you know the One behind it.
And that is the difference.
Not a life free of problems, but a heart that is anchored.
Not a life without tests, but a soul that knows Who is in control of them.
So the journey is not just to worship more or to do more. The journey is to know Him. To learn His names. To reflect on His attributes. To see Him in your life, constantly, consistently, intentionally.
Because once you truly know Allah, loving Him will no longer be something you try to do.
It will be something you cannot help.
And this is where Islamic psychology meets the heart of faith.
When the soul is aligned with its purpose, when the heart is attached to its Creator, there is a natural state of inner stability, clarity, and peace. Anxiety softens, restlessness settles, and the constant search for fulfillment begins to quiet.
Not because life becomes perfect, but because your heart becomes finally connected to the One it was created for.
And that is a feeling no amount of therapists or medication can ever replace.
