Is Allah Punishing Me or Testing Me, How to Understand the Difference
Sakeena Institute

You have spent hours scrolling. Days that blur together. Years that pass without meaning. And somewhere in all that lost time, you wonder: Where did my life go?
Time is the one resource that is absolutely finite. You cannot earn more of it. You cannot buy it back. You cannot pause it or slow it down. Every second that passes is gone forever. And yet, we treat it like we have an infinite supply.
Islam teaches us something profound about time. The Prophet ﷺ said: "There are two blessings which many people waste: health and free time." Think about that. Allah groups free time with health as blessings we carelessly squander. Because we do not realize their value until they are gone.
But here is what makes this reality even heavier: on the Day of Judgment, Allah will ask you about your time. Not your money. Not your status. Your time. How did you spend it? What did you use it for? Did you invest it in what matters, or did you waste it on what does not?
This is not meant to create guilt. It is meant to create awareness. Because once you truly understand that time is finite, that every moment is sacred, that you will be accountable for how you used it, everything changes. Your priorities shift. Your decisions change. You stop wasting hours on things that do not feed your soul or serve your purpose.
The problem is that we live as if time is infinite. We say "I will start tomorrow." We say "I have time." We say "I will do it later." But later might not come. And even if it does, you have already lost the present moment the only moment you actually have.
The value of time is not just in its scarcity. It is in what you can create with it. The relationships you can build. The knowledge you can gain. The good you can do. The legacy you can leave. Every moment is an opportunity. And when you see it that way, you stop wasting it.
This video explores what time truly means in Islamic perspective, why we waste it, and how to start using it in ways that matter. Not in a way that creates stress or pressure, but in a way that creates meaning and peace.
